Ability Modals

 Words like Can, Could, be able are used in ability modals.

They can be used using the following structure:

Subject + Ability Modal + Main Verb

Examples with Could:

-When Joe was younger, hw coul touch his toes

Example with Can

-These babies can touch their toes

Example with be able

-They are able to touch their toes.

An example of this can be found in a paragraph of Bob Marley's song entitled "Could you be loved", the parrado says:

"Could you be, could you be loved"
