Past Perfect Progressive

 The past perfect progressive shows us situations situations that have not ended or that recently ended.

  This estructure is the next one:

Had + (not) + been + Verb ing

He is not used when we are going to deny a sentence

Yes / No Questions

In the following examples we see how the structure is when we are going to ask Yes / No

Had she been thinking about him?

Yes, she had

In the structure e Wh Questions we use it as follows:

  Wh + Had + Subject + Been + ing verb

Example:

How long had you been trying to meet him?

An example from real life can be found in the song by Bruno Mars called "It will Rain" in the paragraph that says:

"I had been doing the same tihng"
