Past Perfect Progressive
The past perfect progressive shows us situations situations that have not ended or that recently ended.
This estructure is the next one:
Had + (not) + been + Verb ing
He is not used when we are going to deny a sentence
Yes / No Questions
In the following examples we see how the structure is when we are going to ask Yes / No
Had she been thinking about him?
Yes, she had
In the structure e Wh Questions we use it as follows:
Wh + Had + Subject + Been + ing verb
Example:
How long had you been trying to meet him?
